What free video chat actually means here
Most sites that promise free video chat make you earn it. You type an email, confirm it, build a profile, then discover the good part sits behind a button with a price on it. We would rather you found out whether you like this before we asked you for anything.
So here is the plain version. Every day you get 10 free matches. Each one shows you how matching feels: a new face on screen, Next one tap away, nothing to fill in first. You do not need an account to use them, and you do not need to hand over a card. It is the same random video chat flow everyone else uses; the free allowance just means the first few matches cost you nothing.
Free does not mean unlimited. When the day's matches are used, longer sessions run on coins, and we show you the price before anything is spent. That is the whole deal, and it is the same on the how it works page, because we would rather not say one thing here and another there.

Free video chat, no sign-up: how to start
The fastest way to understand it is to do it once. The three steps below take about the time it takes to read this paragraph.
- 1
Press Start Video Chat
The button is pinned to the bottom of your screen on a phone and in the top corner on a laptop. Your browser will ask for camera and microphone access. Say yes, or you will only see a black square.
- 2
Wait a few seconds for a match
We look for someone to pair you with. If nobody is free the instant you press the button, you wait a moment. Waiting is part of how matching works, and it is usually short.
- 3
Say hello, or tap Next
Stay for as long as it is good. Tap Next the moment it is not. Skipping a match costs nothing and nobody gets a notification about it.
Video chat with no registration, and what you give up
Skipping registration has a real upside and a small cost. The upside is obvious: nothing to fill in, nothing to forget a password for, no email list to unsubscribe from. A lot of people simply will not sign up for something they have not tried, and that is a sensible instinct.
The cost is that a guest has no history. Close the tab and the conversation is gone; there is no saved list of people you liked. If you want to keep coins, or come back to the same settings tomorrow, an account is how that works. It is optional, and it is something you add after you know you want it.
Video chat without registration on a phone
It works in a normal mobile browser. No app store, no 200 MB download on a bad connection. If you are on mobile data, expect it to use about as much as any other video call.
What a guest cannot do
A guest cannot buy or hold coins, and cannot keep a profile between visits. Everything about the conversation itself, matching, Next, Block and Report, works the same.

What happens when your free matches run out
Sooner or later you will hit the end of the day's allowance, and the screen will tell you so. Nothing is taken from you. You can come back tomorrow for a fresh 10, or you can carry on with coins if you are enjoying yourself.
Coins pay for longer or premium sessions, and you see the cost before you commit. If a payment does not go the way you expected, the refund policy spells out what we can reverse. And if you decide it is not for you, that is fine too; closing the tab is the whole cancellation process.
Getting more out of your free matches
Ten conversations is plenty if you use them well. A few things that people who enjoy it tend to do:
- Test your camera and microphone before you start, so the first match is not spent saying "can you hear me?".
- Sit facing a window or a lamp. A lit face gets a better reaction than a silhouette.
- Open with a question rather than "hi". What to say on a video chat has 25 openers if your mind goes blank.
- Do not stay out of politeness. If it is flat after a minute, Next is the kind option for both of you.
- If you would rather type than talk, text chat with strangers uses the same matching with no camera.
